"Here's a pillow you can hit if you're feeling frustrated".
If your child has the urge to hit, give them something that they can hit. If they have the urge to bite, five them something that they can bite.
We need to respect that they have this big swell of emotions. They need to follow that through with something. You’re their most trusted parent and of course they’re going to want to lash out at you.
You haven’t done anything wrong. You haven’t got a broken aggressive child. You’ve got a child with big emotions and an undeveloped brain and they don’t know what to do with all those feelings.
Provide a cushion, provide chewable things, provide a calm space provide sensory toys and redirect your child to those things.
You’ve got this.
