A reminder that language is EVERYTHING.

Children learn all of their language through listening to others. Their body image is also influenced by what they hear other people saying about themselves.

If you speak negatively about your body, even if it’s just a passive comment, your child is likely to take that into consideration as they develop their own body image.

Kids with POSITIVE body image are more likely to:

  • Eat more variety of foods
  • Move their bodies regularly
  • Connect with friends more often
  • Put themselves forward for opportunities
  • Not engage in disordered eating
  • Get more sleep

It’s possible to raise body positive kids even if we don’t feel 100% confident in our own bodies. Fake it ’til you make it.
