Kids Recipes: Classic Kiwi Cheese Rolls
Introduce your little one to the joy of cooking with this classic Kiwi Cheese Roll recipe! Perfect for tiny hands, this recipe helps toddlers practice spreading, mixing, and rolling skills while creating a delicious snack they’ll love.
Ingredients:
1 loaf of bread
1 can of reduced cream
1 packet of soup mix (onion, bacon and onion, or French onion are always firm winners in our house)
1 cup of grated cheese
Optional: diced onion
Instructions:
Grab your clever mat, clever knife, clever spoon and clever bowl (yup our bowls are big enough to contain it all)
1. Prepare the Mix: Start by pouring the reduced cream into a large mixing bowl. Add the soup mix and stir until well combined. Next, add half the grated cheese and diced onion (if using), and mix together.
2. Spread and Roll: Lay out the slices of bread and spoon the mixture onto the bread and spread out, roll and pop on your clever mat upside down because yes it’s oven proof - up to 230°c! Keep repeating the above until the loaf is all done (these are great for the freezer or a lunchbox snack).
3. Final Touch: Spread with butter and top with cheese for extra deliciousness - trust me, you won’t regret it!
4. Bake: Place the rolls in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes or until they’re crispy, golden, and the cheese is melted.
5. Cool and Enjoy: Let cool and cut in half for easy eating, add some sauce of choice into our dippy chick and enjoy!
