Measuring might not sound cool or fun to us but for kids, understanding the sheer size of some of their favourite animals can be such a WOW moment.

It's all maths concepts in disguise, but being able to compare their body, toys or household objects to animals is a great way for them to begin to understand measurements.
Turns out our sofa is about the length of a lemon shark?!
Kids can then measure in non-standardised measurements to understand scale. E.g. "That dinosaur is 3 daddies tall".
